Career Specialist at Military Spouse Jobs & VetJobs
The Career Specialist (Independent Contractor) provides foundational career readiness support to military-affiliated job seekers. This role focuses on helping candidates prepare for a successful job search through resume assistance, job search guidance, career resources, and referrals to additional VetJobs services. Career Specialists serve as one of the first points of contact for many candidates and work collaboratively with internal teams to connect job seekers with employment, training, and more advanced career coaching when needed.
Required Qualifications:
Military-affiliated (Veteran, Military Spouse, National Guard, Reserve, or Transitioning Service Member).
Associate's degree, or a recent demonstrated skills certificate* combined with relevant experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recruiting, workforce development, employment services, human resources, career coaching, or a related field.
Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to effectively engage individuals via phone, text, email, and virtual meeting platforms.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with strong organizational, time management, and self-direction skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, CRM systems, and LinkedIn, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new technologies.
