Our Partnership with the National Guard and Reserves
VetJobs is the only major employment support organization for the military community that offers no-cost career services tailored to National Guard and Reserve members and their spouses, with a deep understanding of their unique needs. Established in 2010, in direct response to a letter of need from the Army National Guard during a period of peak unemployment, the Guard and Reserve Program has played a vital role in bridging military service with civilian economic resilience. What began as a focused effort to address immediate workforce needs has evolved into a nationwide initiative to partner across all 54 states and territories. Today, VetJobs holds partnerships with 36 states while actively building relationships across every region. Our path forward is guided by a precise, three-pillar framework designed to drive sustainable candidate success:
Building Partnerships: Establishing trusted connections across state commands, units, and federal entities.
Sustaining Engagement: Delivering continuous, high-touch support to ensure our partners achieve their specific recruitment and force-readiness goals.
Optimizing Pathways: Refining every connection so that as our Client Services team steps in, candidates smoothly transition into full-time, meaningful careers.
We recognize that every reserve command and every state has unique needs. VetJobs adapts through three flexible partnership tiers:
Active Referral
States directly connect service members and spouses to VetJobs using targeted digital and hardcopy marketing materials.
Full Use
State employment programs and dedicated staff leverage our BrassRing talent management platform to directly manage and track their candidate pools.
Training Partnership
State-specific gateways grant service members direct access to thousands of VetJobs-sponsored skill development and certification opportunities.
A Collaborative Approach
We do not compete with existing state or federal programs; we enhance them. VetJobs creates deliberate, tailored relationships across the military landscape to ensure seamless support for:
• Reserve Command Leadership: Reserve Component Commands and Major Subordinate Commands (Brigades, Wings, etc.).
• State Headquarters: Joint Force Headquarters across the 54 as well as ANG wings.
• Recruitment & Retention: ARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalions and ANG Recruiting Commands.
• Support Organizations: State ESGR Chapters and both Officer and Enlisted State Association Chapters.
ARMY RESERVE
Private Public Partnership
VetJobs is proud to support the U.S. Army Reserve Private Public Partnership Program, known as P3, which helps connect Army Reserve Soldiers and their families to meaningful civilian career, internship, and education opportunities. This work matters because more than 87% of Army Reserve members balance military service with civilian careers, bringing valuable professional skills, education, and private-sector expertise back to the force.
Through P3,
The Army Reserve works alongside corporate, nonprofit, and academic partners to strengthen career pathways for Soldiers and families. As a trusted partner, VetJobs helps extend that support through personalized employment assistance, employer connections, and access to opportunities that promote long-term career success. Together, these efforts help strengthen readiness while supporting the people who serve beyond the uniform.
